How does the Vitalize Skin Peel Work?

Composed of alphahydroxy acids, betahydroxy acids, retinoic acid and resorcinol, the Vitalize Skin Peel chemically exfoliates the outermost damaged skin cells to reveal a new, blemish-free layer of beautiful skin.

The peel causes only minor tingling and discomfort and can be repeated multiple times over the course of 1-2 months. It is most often performed at an accredited outpatient facility and requires no anesthesia or numbing agents.

How do I Get Started with the Vitalize Skin Peel?

Setting up a consultation is easy. We welcome patients from all across the state of North Carolina. In addition, it is not unusual for patients to travel across the country – or across the ocean – to take advantage of our outstanding services. When you meet with your doctor, he or she will examine your skin and medical history to ensure that the Vitalize Skin Peel is the best procedure for your needs and goals.

In addition to reporting any previous surgeries, such as a facelift, brow lift or blepharoplasty, it’s important to alert your doctor if you have a history of cold sores, blood clotting, or infectious diseases, as these may affect the results of a chemical peel. Our extensive library of before and after photos, instructional videos and patient testimonials can also be of help as your prepare to move forward with your treatment.

After Your Peel

Your skin may be flushed and slightly swollen for a few hours after treatment, but these side effects rarely persist. The most important item to remember on your aftercare checklist is to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for at least 2-6 weeks, and to wear sunblock whenever possible. You should make sure your skin is well-hydrated and clean, washing your face a few times a day. Take care not to irritate the skin by scratching, touching or otherwise disturbing the healing process. If you require relief from itching, a cold compress can help tremendously. Exercise can be resumed within 24 hours, while patients may return to work right away. Results from the Vitalize Skin Peel last on average from 6 months to one year.
